Sometimes it's the Tiny (URL) things...
Somethings tiny things can make a big difference!
If you use Twitter or Email, if you comment on blogs, you may find including long URLs to be tedious or impossible (URL is a web address like http://www.profound.paradigms.com).
There's a way to dramatically shrink those URLs so they will fit in Twitter, Emails, and other cramped quarters...
Tinyurl.com is a free website that translates your long URLs into short ones. You just paste or type in your long URL, push one button, and tinyurl creates a small one for you.
You can also put a tinyurl button on your link toolbar, which will greatly simplify the process. You just navigate to the page you want, push your own toolbar button, and tinyurl does the rest.
For example, tinyurl:
- changed this: http://www.profoundparadigms.com/index.php/ricks-picks/marketing-a-publicity/102-market-you-via-twitter
- to this: http://tinyurl.com/nh9ub8
Both links take you to the same place. But, only the second one will fit in a Twitter tweet.
What have been your experiences with TinyURL? Pro or con?
